Bug 30284751 - Trace File With Messages "Required IPC RDMAV_FORK_SAFE / RDMAV_HUGEPAGES_SAFE" Is Generated In Windows Platform (Doc ID 30284751.8)     

This note gives a brief overview of bug 30284751.

Range of versions believed to be affected      Versions >= 19.1 but BELOW 20.1


Versions confirmed as being affected            19.3.0
Platforms affected                                       Windows 64bit (AMD64/EM64T)


Fixed:
The fix for 30284751 is first included in        20.1.0
                                                               19.12.0.0.DBRU:210720 (JUL 2021) DB Release Update (DB RU)

Interim patches may be available for earlier versions


Symptoms:
Related To: Unwanted or Excess Trace / Alert messages(None Specified)


Description
Large number of trace files with messages like below are generated in Windows environment.

Required IPC RDMAV_FORK_SAFE environment not setRequired IPC RDMAV_HUGEPAGES_SAFE environment not set

These environment variables are specific to Linux, and should not be applicable to Windows.   

REDISCOVERY INFORMATION:

If you see following lines trace files of WINDOWS platform, this issue has been encountered.   

Required IPC RDMAV_FORK_SAFE environment not set
Required IPC RDMAV_HUGEPAGES_SAFE environment not set  

Workaround

Set RDMAV_FORK_SAFE and RDMAV_HUGEPAGES_SAFE as "0" as Windows Environment Variable.


The Windows operating system may have to be restarted to take effect.

这个trace文件太多了, 19.12 解决。或者按上面设置环境变量,并重启操作系统后,问题消失。
